ed Amley is a seasoned corporate attorney who represents his clients in domestic and cross-border transactions.  While some of his clients are based in New York, Idaho, Massachusetts and other  jurisdictions within the United States, he also regularly represents entrepreneurs and corporate clients based in India, China, Canada, Uruguay and other foreign jurisdictions seeking to conduct business transactions in the United States.

After graduating from Yale Law School in 1998, Ted commenced his career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP, which is regularly ranked as the most prestigious corporate law firm in the United States.  While at Cravath, Ted represented the firm’s clients in credit card securitizations, cross-border acquisitions, going private transactions, and tender offers.

Ted joined the corporate practice of McKee Nelson (which merged into Bingham McCutchen, LLP), where he was seconded to the legal department of UBS Securities. At UBS, Ted primarily represented the investment bank on structured finance and claims trading matters.  Ted was also seconded to the legal department of Morgan Stanley while he was a corporate attorney at SNR Denton, LLP, where he internally represented the investment bank on complex financial products and cross-border transactions. 

 

Ted was eventually named Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation where he had responsibilities with respect to loan originations, receivable purchase transactions, synthetic products, letters of credit, trade claims, participations, and numerous other corporate matters.  He also provided corporate governance advice and assisted with public securities filings, advisory agreements and intra-company agreements.
