R

ob Enayati is a passionate, business-minded attorney who utilizes his more than a decade worth of transactional experience to achieve his clients’ objectives and advocate for their interests.  Rob has a unique perspective in the practice of law that informs his representation of his clients:  he has been both the attorney and the client.

After graduating cum laude from Georgetown Law, Rob commenced a prestigious federal clerkship with the Honorable Richard Neiter of the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Central District of California.  Once his clerkship ended, Rob joined the New York office of a top 10 international law firm, Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP.  Rob worked in the Banking and Finance group, where he worked on deals and workouts for clients across a wide range of industries such as Citibank, Credit Suisse, General Electric, Revlon, AIG, Lindsay Goldberg, Viasystems Technologies, and Vonage.  Rob was asked by the firm’s senior partner to temporarily relocate to Hong Kong to assist the firm’s client – a consortium of investors led by a major U.S. private equity firm – in its acquisition of a television broadcaster.  This was a great honor and one of Rob’s most memorable experiences as a lawyer.

Upon returning to New York from Hong Kong, Rob joined the debt finance practice of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, an international powerhouse also consistently ranked by industry rankings to be among the top 10 law firms in the United States.  Rob practiced in the debt finance group, where he worked on complex transactions for Avis Budget Car Rental, Hawker Beechcraft, GSO (Blackstone), Cengage, Community Preservation Corporation, Physiotherapy Associates, Prestige Brands, Clear Channel Communications, Horizon Lines, Dairyland USA, and numerous private equity firms.

Rob eventually  relocated to Los Angeles.  He joined the real estate practice of the premiere international law firm headquartered in California, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.  At Gibson Dunn, Rob worked on some of the real estate group’s most challenging financing transactions, and diversified his practice to joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, and hospitality transactions.  He worked on transactions for marquee clients such as JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, Apollo Global Management, Oaktree Capital Management, Fortress, and Blackstone.

Rob was offered the opportunity to be the first General Counsel of an alternative credit fund based in Los Angeles.  Along with a team he recruited and supervised and in collaboration with other departments, he internally represented the firm in litigation, transactional, and other legal matters.  He was also tasked with supervising over a dozen outside counsel which gave him the perspective of the “client” in the attorney-client relationship.

Notwithstanding his busy legal career, Rob has always made time to represent not-for-profits and others in need on a pro bono basis.  For example, while at Weil, he represented the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society in a licensing transaction.  While at Kirkland, he represented the Partnership for New York City in making social impact loans that would result in job creation for the needy.  While at Gibson, he helped a grieving mother honor her deceased son’s legacy by forming a 501(c)(3) animal rescue.
